Our trip to Seattle

Our plane, at Heathrow Airport

We’ve been in Seattle for three and a bit days now! We’ll be crossing the border to Canada and travelling to Vancouver tomorrow.

When we arrived on Monday, all we really managed to do was eat dinner and crash in the hotel room. There are some wonderful places to eat and drink in the same neighbourhood as our hotel!

On Tuesday we got a local coffee and then took a walk down to the Seattle Public Market for breakfast overlooking the harbour and Puget Sound.

Later, we took the local light rail to Roosevelt to check out the beautiful Green Lake Park.

We finished up the day at the Cheesecake Factory, which is an absolute must. 😏

On Wednesday we visited Seattle’s most iconic landmark, the Space Needle. We found out it took only just over a year to build, which is super impressive!

We sat on the revolving glass floor for quite some time. It would have been really easy to stay up there for hours admiring the views.

One of the ticket options for the Space Needle gave us access to the neighbouring Chihuly Garden & Glass exhibition, which was full of beautiful glass art pieces. We’ll leave the link here and some photos for you to admire!

We finished the day…with pizza of course.

Today we’ve been to beautiful Bainbridge Island, which was a 35-minute ferry ride from Seattle.

We absolutely had to stop for ice cream. After a few drinks at a local bar with a very fun bartender, we grabbed some supermarket sandwiches and sat in a park on the way back to the ferry terminal…where we heard a radio in a local workshop playing In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel, which was our first dance at our wedding – well, we used a cover, but still!)

Finally, we went on the Seattle Great Wheel for another look at the city and Puget Sound.

It’s time to chill and plan our logistics for tomorrow! It’ll be a 3h30m bus ride to Vancouver, depending on how quickly things go at the border crossing. Wish us luck!
